Holiday Valley scored another lake effect storm, with a 5 day total reaching into the 25” range. A majority of the snowfall happened prior to our visit, but 5" had fallen overnight and made for great conditions.
Tiff and I were committed to making the most out of the day, we left the house early and were second in line. We spent the first hour lapping the Yodeler Chair, it was spectacular. Our early start paid off. Tiff said something along the lines of: “I could tell you were on a happiness high, just from the way you were riding”.
At 9:30 we met up with our friend Davis, who came with his friend Greg. Of the group, none of us were very familiar with Holiday Valley, which made it fun for us all to wander around the mountain. Before stopping for a late lunch, we had already touched the 8 major open chairlifts, and gotten a good feel of the terrain.
We refueled with lunch in a packed Yodeler Lodge. The second half of the day was a busier scene on the mountain. As much as we wanted to cruise around Tannenbaum, the packed lift line drove us to explore other areas that we enjoyed earlier in the day. More snow started to fall, we didn't want to call it quits. Ultimately with our long drive home we wrapped up the day around 4. The parking lot was packed, with a line of cars coming up the access road for Twilight skiing. Happy to see the business coming to HV, and winter coming into full swing!
