The forecast was for snow...
In the morning, when I woke up, it was indeed snowing.
Scott was running just a bit behind, as happens when you chase during the storm. The Gondi wasn't spinning so I rode the quad, and went right to the North Side.
On my first lap on the north chair I Iost the bottom half of my BD Traverse ski pole. Not a great way to start a powder day.
I reported it to Patrol at the Saddle. Patrol LOANED me a spare pole, and told me they'd send a snowmobile down for my pole in the next hour. I did several laps of Tahawas while waiting and they were all among the best of the year for me.
On my fourth lap through the Saddle I retrieved my pole, thank you Gore Mountain Ski Patrol!
I decided to go to the top, kind of giving up on the idea that I could find Scott on the North Side.
I ran into @Cork and chased him for a while. Just as he was quitting I found Scott and Lemmecaution. We skied the rest of the day together, from noon, until close. The snow was extremely nice, and even cutup it was dreamy. Piste and off, it was all good.
