I started out by skipping first chair, I skied in our woods. If it was going to fz rn I wanted to get my trails tracked first.

But I was done by 8:50. It was 24 degrees —cold enough for a miracle — and it was snowing and sleeting.

Over to Gore I went.

I missed first chair, but I still had the Minder Lodge to myself

I got on the Hudson Chair around 9:15? getting pelted with sleet. But at the top of Little Gore it was mostly snow.

I decided to go higher. When I got to Burnt Ridge it was clear that what was happening was a good thing.

All snow above 2000 ft

Barkeater

I was kind of running out of gas, when I ran into @Cork and @SudsNBumps and Bobby and they carried me through the most aggressive skiing of the afternoon.

The whole thing was a Christmas miracle, except it wasn't Christmas.

Mingus once said "I been blessed by God. I'm not rich but I always had 60 dollars in my pocket."

Total sleeper day, awesome.

that lodge tho….oof, that might be the most unattractive ski lodges I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of my high school cafeteria.
It's... complicated.

The Minder Lodge actually was a temporary upgrade from a yurt. They are building a $10m replacement right next to it. It will also be called the Minder Lodge. I'm sure it will be beautiful. Ready for next season.

There's a feeling among locals that the new lodge is just too much. There's not a lot of parking at that base area and some feel they should have spent some of that money on employee housing.

I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
