There is a blurb by the New England fkrcaster on open snow discussing the inaccuracy of those forecasts

I don't use them for accuracy, I use them for potential.

The reason I scored last Fri/Sat at Gore was not because the GFS 240 is accurate, it is because the GFS 240 alerts me to POTENTIAL, early enough so I can get the time off.

So you're saying there's a chance.
I was thinking I'd head up to Tug on Xmas day to poke around on the sled. Was planning on staying the night, riding Monday, then head home Monday mid-afternoon. Looking at the forecast I'm staying home. Wind and snow combo is not good on a sled....lol

For sure, but not usually 50mph. I'll solo drift bust on my home turf but not up there, it's just not a smart move. It's kinda like you not following those tracks at Magic.
