Finished off the season @ Crystal Mtn in Thompsonvile Mi for my ninth use of my spring Indy pass therefore $21 per visit. Snow report said three inches and was no joke, a nice butter on top of the moist cake after two inches of rain Wednesday.
My favorite run of the day was Shirk’s slalom under the non operating Backyard triple. Being the lift was closed most folks stayed away so it was my “powder “ go to albeit short.
Between the south facing Ridge triple, North quad, ( both CTEC’s) east facing Clipper HS Poma quad, Skytrac Conveyor Lokiquad, and Skytrac Buck quad the area maximizes its 375’ vertical and has a lot of character.
Along the edges there was always some butter to cut up. Temps held just below freezing so it never got sloppy.
With the exception of the glades ( they were being skied here and there) everything was in play except natural Nose Dive. It was a nice way to finish what turned out to be a good and economical season thanks to Indy.
