Ski Day 23: NSBS 2 started today in New Hampshire. Our first ski day was at Cannon.
Arriving at Cannon
The lodge is nice and simple.
Peabody Lodge
Everywhere you look the Whites create drama. It's fun taking pictures.
Lafayette Mountain from Zoomer
Kinsman Glade
After skiing some stuff off the Peabody Express and Cannonball...
...we took the tram...
...then bombed down Taft Slalom...
...and hiked up Mittersill...
All natural snow, much less traffic, and thin cover...
After lunch we cooked up a plan to drop a car, that would let us ski even farther down.
While @riverc0il and Pat dropped the car @MC2 and I skied Upper and Middle Hardscrabble. It was soft bumps, windblown snow and serious ice on the steepest parts. You had to link areas of turnable snow, and at times that was nearly impossible. Still there was some great bump skiing. It was mission critical skiing and the cameras didn't come out much.
We reconnected with the group and headed back over to Mittersill...
It was more fun, technical skiing on thin natural snow. I really liked it. I think all of us did. We drove back to the base lodge and headed up to find some trees.
We ended the day with ANOTHER lap on Upper and Middle Hardscrabble.
