I went to play golf for two days at Caberfae Peaks and Pete Meyer who is one of the two owners has gotten to know me asked if I wanted him to take up up the hill to see the progress on the new lift and what will eventually be a new peak. How could I say no.
So this is the lift being replaced a 1960ish Hall double.

Pete took me to the top to see the progress of the footings and how they are building up the East Peak, which is still 10 years out from being fully completed.

You can see a little of how much earth they have moved over the last few years

Good things are happening at Caberfae. They also have 10 new SMI Super Pole Cats going in along with more remodeling of their Skyview lodge. Have met Laz at Plattekill and the Meyer cousins at Caberfae I feel like they have very much in common. Neither goes deep into debt and you feel like a name and not a number.

How much in total will they add to the peak?

There’s no rocks.
Looks to be a huge sand dune.
Don’t need rock skis.

How much in total will they add to the peak?
It’s not going to get any higher than where the new lift is going in. There is going to more developing of looking up the hill to the left. They have already planted pine tree saplings and have snow fence around them to form new trails. There is also plans to addd another lift to service more runs in the area circled in red on the trail map

What's the total they have added since the beginning?

The red lines show what was the actual summit and the green circle is where they have been building up the new peak. The arrow shows how high that section now is. There is another whole section that was part of Caberfae that is no longer used. It’s maybe 120’ of vertical and that is where they are getting the full dirt from

What do they do with the old Hall? Sell off the chairs maybe?
They have another Hall lift they took down a few years ago and have them in storage right now and the chairs from this lift will go into storage and get reused at a later date in their back country area.
