My go to ski area finally was open. When I left Ann Abor At 6am it was 35 and foggy, Once the it got daylight the fog lifted which is a good a thing. Just over a week ago Northern Michigan got 8-10 inches of snow and the line of no snow and 8-10 inches was only a couple of miles. After a 3.5 hr drive we arrived and booted up in the parking lot and the lines were already getting long.

Caberfae has put down 3-4 feet of manmade on open runs and it was a nice packed powder,

Due to Covid restrictions there is no indoor dining or gatherings, so new this season is a new 1,100 square foot deck with heaters and a fire pit. Between sunshine and the heaters it was a great way to enjoy a blood mary and a basket of what has been voted one of the best french fores in Michigan

Going in to use the bathroom was very different looking. The lower lodge which is normally fullof picnic tables, crock pots on top of the cubbies and people enjoying lunch, well not today

The lines fairly long all day, but most people just dealt with and remained in a good mood and wore their face mask.

All in all i was nice to back at Caberfae Peaks. I love that one of the owners was checking lift ticket and directing traffic for the lifts and later on emptying trash cans. It reminds me of Laz at Plattekill, He does what has to be done.

3-4' of man made. I know it's not a big hill, but that's called making hay while the sun shines.
