Boulder County Area Fire

interesting on December 6 there was an article on the Denver Channel stating that global warming would cause more December wildfires in Colorado

but we still have skeptics.
I recall probably more than 10 years ago seeing a report out west of a burned out Culdesac.
One home was standing, it was constructed with stucco walls and a metal roof. The news reporter treated the owner like he was a genius. To me it’s common sense. If you live in an arid climate take appropriate measures.
I can’t believe after all these years it’s not part of the local building codes.

Or at least have some type of exterior fire suppression systems. Have a misting system around the perimeter of the property that can be run from a generator. A friend of mine converted part of his office to two apartments . He was required to install a sprinkler system, it had a 500 gallon tank and pump.

I can run my well off a small generator that has about 6hrs of running time .

Good luck with the global warming thing. It’s something that will have to be lived with like Covid. In the meantime I like Ripitz idea…plant lots of trees!

We shouldn't be saying "good luck' with global warming, we live in a democracy and if we love skiing and our country we should let the politicians know it by voting the deniers out. The ski industry is getting near a precipice in some areas. It creates many more jobs than coal, but we were told to jump through hoops in 2016 because the coal industry was suffering . We all are going to be suffering soon.

This is the new normal out here. When you have 50+ mph winds there isn’t much you can do about it. Weather events have been visibly getting more extreme for at least ten years, probably a lot longer.

At this point I won’t and can’t argue with deniers. It’s happening in real time now and much quicker than predicted. Everyone loves to bullshit themselves by saying comforting things like, not for a hundred years or, not in my lifetime but that no longer works if you’re paying attention.

I’d make a bet right now that skiing as we have known it is going to done in 15 to 20 years.

If the trend continues I totally agree. The data I posted for my region is reality right from the NWS now data.

We have a local meteorologist whom loves to tell us he graduated from Cornell. He's a major denier ... It defies logic and the data.

"And if you think skiing is expensive , try golf hahahahahha". Advise given to me by one of my ski posse when i took it up at age 60 .
