A week after the storm of the century and everything is still golden in the Catskills. Bluebird skies and incredibly soft snow, especially in the bumps: a perfect combination of winter and spring conditions. All that snow opened up some shots that we’ve never been able to ski before. We were thinking about doing a run down Highmount, but the snow was so perfect in-bounds that there was no need to go hunting.

One of the overlooked places at Belleayre that I always try to ski after a decent snowfall is the old lift line next to Esopus. A little further down, it narrows down to six feet in width and turns into a great bump run. Yesterday was the first time in nine years of skiing there that I didn’t see a rope across it at the entrance:
