    Ski Day Tracking 2020 - 2021

    (1) day - Big Sky (1) day - Bridger Bowl (14) days - Montana BC* (16) total* *Maybe a few more if I can get a break from packing. Photo from yesterday... still plenty of turns to be had.

    ORDA Board Meetings

This resonates with me. I somehow feel more invested. The ORDA model is in a sense a version of the USFS lease model out west (and parts of NE) at least from a land ownership standpoint. As skiers we can become really attached to the landscape and terrain we ski. As cool as that experience might...

    Ski Day Tracking 2020 - 2021

Super envious of this. I will have a foot in the grave before my kids start to actually shred! Hoping that some major strides in longevity research happen in the coming years... At least in the summer I can get a eMTB and not tell them.

100%, but the first step is having the land to create the trail. Just seems like a shame that at least some of these corridors can't accommodate other uses as well. Maybe like a snowmobile / Kingdom trail model, or I guess the Catamount trail though I'd assume a much greater percentage of the...

Fascinating. How much does that cost? Is it an annual registration? Can people use tracked side by sides too?

Thanks! I sure hope so. Time will tell if it sticks. Oh, and my family sure will let me know. :) I definitely need to do some more research on this. Without blowing the spot, do you think Kaydeross and Battenkill public access spots are good starting points? We are most interested in native...

Wait, what? Farmers, or private landowners generally who make up that 75%, are ok with snowmobiles on their land in the winter but are not cool with any other type of access during other times of the year? Seems arbitrary. So, just one random example: here are the snowmobile trails from...

I guess my question is what do these look like when there is no snow? Is it just a cleared swath with leaves and some understory or is there a trail (singletrack/ doubletrack)? Leads into my mtb question... Why not? Are these all on public land? Easements on private land? So you can snowmobile...

Is there any cleared "tread" or trail in there corridors? Are people allowed to ride ATVs and dirt bikes on these in the non-winter months? Are they any fun to mountain bike?

Maybe worth starting another thread or building off another that is more on topic, but what do people think about a West Mountain season pass for $499? It seems steep for what it is but the ability to get some turns after work would be huge! Issue is, I'd also want the Ski3 for weekends and then...

Really sugar coating it there, aren't you? :) Honestly as a backcountry skier (>80%) this is something that I really worry about! I'd lie if we haven't gotten cold feet nearly a dozen times, but now I think we have some momentum and are finally going to pull the plug. I realize how incredibly...

Has anyone mountain biked Moreau SP or paddled the Hudson in that area? Lots of dams!

Thanks. We had kids late. In a big city or mountain town this may be the norm. In red'er and rural'er places people in the same stage of parenthood as I could be my kids. It's all good. This is our goal and why I'm putting a lot of pressure on the decision. We could give it two years and...

Thanks. That's really nice. Actually, I have a gig lined up and it sounds like it could be a good fit. I just get cold feet sometimes when I think about lifestyle stuff... speed traps, rain in February, parking tickets, poison ivy, singletrack covered with slick roots, vinyl siding, cologne...

    Parking Lot Base Camp

It's a BIG place. Great stories. Friends of mine have been trying to have safety meetings at all the secret shacks. Let's just say it's an ongoing endeavor.

    Parking Lot Base Camp

Oh man! That's living. Great story. Yeah, Madison base area is still a little "wilder" until that too gets built out. The little cabins that serve as lodge facilities are not long for this world. https://bigsky2025.com/

    Parking Lot Base Camp

This is our old family "lodge" parked slope side at Big Sky Madison base area. Perfect for when kiddos need a nap. My wife and I can take turns skiing and hanging out with the little ones. We actually have a different but similar one now.

    Charger Love

The regular V6 (2016) is my daily driver, even on rare inbounds days. It gets outmatched in firm conditions or chop especially at speed, but an excellent ski for soft snow. I remounted -4cm after a few weeks and they felt much better. I want to try the new Manti
