Bristol or Platty for NY and Elk or Montage for PA is what I’m hoping for?

    Wildlife

Mama deer and her newborn fawn were hanging out in my front yard yesterday. They got spooked by something, mother deer took off into the brush across the road and the fawn just laid down. She watched me from across the street as I came up to get this shot. About a half hour later, she crossed...

    What is your skiing history?

I started in ski club in 7th grade and was immediately hooked. I got away from it when I was in my 20’s for one reason or another. Got back into it in my mid 30’s with the hopes that my kids and wife would share the same passion for it as me. Unfortunately, after a few years, they all lost...

    Greek Peak Conditions

I saw a FB post earlier from a former forum member and the coverage still looked pretty decent on Fields/Stoic.

    Greek Peak Conditions

GP skied great this morning. Fields to Stoic was prime corn top to bottom. Olympian was good too except for the bare area at the bottom of the head wall. Looks like they have enough snow to hang on through the week.

    Greek Peak Conditions

Today’s conditions were great. Everything groomed to perfection with very few icy spots. Labyrinth is starting to get a bit thin, but the trees off of chair 2 still have plenty of cover. Things softened up nicely as the day went on. They have plenty of snow made, so hopefully Mother Nature...

    Plattekill Conditions

Yes, it was good today, except for an icy patch at the top of Freefall. Looked like they got 4-5 inches since the weekend.

Greatest Lengths for a Day on the Hill

My rule of thumb is one hour of drive time for one hour of skiing for a day trip. That gets me anything in the Catskills and Holiday Valley in western NY. I’d definitely daytrip Magic Mt, but it’s not looking promising this year due to COVID.

Top 3 Best Lifts in NYS?

Chair 2 has those cool erector set towers and like Brownski says some great tree skiing. There was this day about a year ago.... And when there’s enough snow, this line rocks! Chair 4 is great for all the reasons Camp says basically. Plus if your skiing it in the morning, you can time it...

    The Indy Pass

I might ski Swain once a year. It’s the same drive for me as GP, but GP has much more to offer!

    Earliest Big Event You Remember

Two things that come to mind are the assassination attempt on President Reagan, and the space shuttle Challenger explosion. I was in grammar school then. I also have a couple memories of the bicentennial. I would have been 3 at the time. Great idea for a topic!
