Why was Belle late to open today??

That sounds really risky. Would I ski up Trails End from Upper Cherrytown if I was gonna attempt such a thing?

Why was Belle late to open today??

Ah, I would phrase that as the incompetent boss of a state owned ski area committed an assault at work. Apparently. I do want details though.

Why was Belle late to open today??

I'm guessing this is basically fan fiction.

Why was Belle late to open today??

Oh, I'm aware. One of the things I'm so unhappy about is that the desk at both Overlook and Discovery was still saying nothing was open for so long after they actually had a lift open. They did a bad job.

Touring in the Gunks, NY: Dec 2020

I skinned up Smiley Carriage Rd. Was too nervous about the lack of base to mess around in the trees. Smiley was nice to the waterfall though. The rocky wet section after was impassible on skis though, so I headed back down. Not a bad day.

Why was Belle late to open today??

Why was Belle late to open today??

    ORDA's Latest Screw-Up

$95 rack rate for Belleayre tickets is equally insane and pushes a midweek frequent skier ticket to +/- $20 more than it was 5 years ago. Next year I will just go Vail and do my midweek skiing at Huntah.

    Resort Expansion

Nationwide moratoriums aren't really a thing that happens in a free society. A statewide moratorium that wasn't limited in time and scope would also be virtually impossible. As it should be.

    Building a Rope Tow

Since you only want to travel 200 feet I got a plan for you. Get a winch, the length of the cable they are rated for is based on a very high load cable. Fill drum with a much lighter weight cable and add 200 feet of rope to the cable, so the end of the rope coincides with the bottom of the...

    Building a Rope Tow

A beater sled or quad is virtually always going to be cheaper, easier, more reliable, and less exposed to vandalism.
