    Today's Ride

Not very colorful but to get a bike ride on 11/11/22 in shorts and a T-Shirt in the central Adirondacks is quite rare. Probabilities of another one before the end of the year are very slim. I remember many years ago skiing WF on opening day on the 10th of November, had to be early 2000s???

For the Love of the T-Bar

Not easy but can be done, I found it would cause cramping due to being half twisted trying to get my butt to stay on the seat.

For the Love of the T-Bar

Some of the biggest areas have T-Bars, even Whistler-Blackcomb, Panorama has one too(or used to anyway).

    Today's Ride

With the not so nice weather and shorter days, after work rides are getting tougher to fit in but got a nice one in last night. Near peak leaves and a great sunset to top it off.

    Red Rocks, CO: 09/18/22

True, Boulder wasn't cheap back then. I worked one summer on a construction crew, hot and dry, missed the lakes back east big time. Wish I had the $$$s back then to invest in real estate. Looked up a house me and 4 other guys rented back then for $500/month. Nothing fancy, split level, out on...

    Red Rocks, CO: 09/18/22

Brings back good memories. Saw some good shows there in the late 70's, college days, CU Boulder. What a fantastic venue. One band that I was really hoping to see there got rained out in the summer of 78, Little Feat. They were pretty much at their peak, saw them in an indoor arena in Denver...

    Skiing's Future

Same can be said about the Adirondacks. They buy up all the waterfront at ridiculous prices and start by cutting down as many trees as they can, put up lights all over and then try making a lawn out of forest. If they like the Suburbia look so much I don't understand why they move.

    Going Under the Knife

9 Weeks out today. Good ROM. Got the ok 2 weeks ago from Doc to ride bike(road only) but cautioned not to fall off. Doc says I am ahead of the curve on recovery but sure seems like slow progress. Have been able to start adding resistance and weight to the PT routine, amazing how much muscle loss...

    Going Under the Knife

Just short of 6 weeks out from shoulder repair, torn top rotator cuff tendon and tear in bicep tendon. First 2 weeks were no picnic. PT now, trying to be patient but hard to do. Hope to be ready to ski by the start of the season. Doc is saying it should be a go, but full strength may take up to...

    Plattekill's Lift Shack Burns

"We need Hall control parts." Big Tupper has a couple Hall lifts that most likely will not be used again. Laz certainly should know that having purchased a bunch of HKDs from there. He might have a little trouble finding the guy he dealt with on the snow guns though. He blew town about 4 years...

    Wildlife

Could have put this under Todays Ride. Couple rides over the weekend resulted in some bad results for Wildlife. Mama Turtle was laying eggs, rode by last night, the hole was dug up and many shells scattered about. Guessing a Racoon? The next night I rode out and back and in the span of 15...

    Big Tupper Thread

He is a legit Billoinairre but apparently not immune to getting flogged. The article says he bought a camp from one of the ACR principals. Actually he was just trying to recoup millions he had lost. He "invested" millions, thinking he was buying property(great camp lot) when the ACR didn't even...

    Big Tupper Thread

Just found it, last day it was operated was 2/16/15. Closed after fairly big rollback on Chair 2. Talked to a guy who was on it at the time, said it had to roll back about 60-70 feet before it came to a stop, scared the crap out of him.

Not 100% sure but I think it was the 15-16 season, of course w the volunteer group running it. Last full year it operated under full operation was 98-99.

    Market Philosophy

I know several people who have either bought their vehicles at the end of their lease and kept them, or bought it and then sold at a big profit. Or who bought then traded in, for much more than they paid at the end of the lease. Good deal if you can afford to do something like that.
