    Bristol Conditions

Bristol announced they will be open tomorrow for the last day. From the webcam today it looks like a true WROD-think I'll pass. Let's hope next year is better-they did all they could with the beyond terrible hand they were dealt weatherwise.

Where are you skiing this week?

Jay tomorrow and Friday, Owls Head on Saturday and Sutton on Sunday then over to NH for Cannon and Bretton Woods. May hit Gore on the way back to Rochester.

    Bristol Conditions

Nothing announced. There's enough snow on Rocket to keep going for a few more days and the upcoming cold will help preserve it.

    Bristol Conditions

Went down today to pick up our skis as we are going to wander around VT and NH plus Gore and see what we can find to ski on. We may hit the Ski Talk Eastern Gathering at Jay, Owl's Head and Sutton this upcoming weekend. Anyway, I couldn't get the energy to put my stuff on to ski today with only...

Yup, if you're running the lifts, put asses in seats! It's all plus $$$ and you may sell some food or drinks.

    Bristol Conditions

Two day report for 3/12-3/13. Nice sunny days with groomed quickly turning into soft small bumps. Still left-Rocket, part of Upper Meteor, Lower Meteor, Comet and the Loop. Upper Meteor is just about done, which eliminates Lower Meteor and Comet is getting thin. We'll be down to Rocket and the...

    Cannon 3/8/24

    Yup................sounds like Cannon.

    Bristol Conditions

Went today as we have three granddaughters in Saturday programs and the two younger ones had an end of the season race scheduled. Bristol and the race crew was able to pull it off on Meteor-I know it was a struggle to find terrain to hold it on! The rain held off for the race with only a few...

    Bristol Conditions

Nice sun, and they were able to move snow around and keep some stuff open. Upper/Lower Rocket, Comet, Part of Upper Meteor, Lower Meteor, Challenger and the Loop. They were able to groom and the chunky stuff turned into creamy snow. Fun to ski, but tiring after a while. Not sure how long they...

    Winter Weather 2023/24

With Bristol looking about done and Gore probably getting pretty marginal, we were thinking of heading to my brother in laws near Cannon. Unless they get a dump, probably not worth driving 7.5 hrs and skiing marginal conditions even if the accommodations are free..............

    Bristol Conditions

Fading fast......................:( Crunchy in the AM as they were not able to groom but got softer as the day went on. Bigger brown spots and holes on many trails. Sunset is just about done, bare spots on Galaxy, Meteor, Comet and Outer Orbit. It finally got sunny and a small group of us...

    Bristol Conditions

Rocket this morning about 11:00 or so. Just about ready to shed a layer. Rocket is probably has the most snow of any trail on the hill.

    Bristol Conditions

Beautiful April day at Bristol today...............too bad it's March 4th! Sunny, snow got soft and wasn't sticky-was 71 in the car when we left. Not looking good for an extended season-quite a few trails had bare spots or holes and will be done soon. Sad, sad, sad................Grilling on the...

    Bristol Conditions

Another blue sky day! Got out about 9:30 and the snow was firm in spots, but got softer as the morning went on. U16 super G race on Comet/Outer Orbit. They were going when I got there and were done by 11:30-12:00 or so. Course seemed to hold up well for the kids. We lost Upper North Star...

    Bristol Conditions

Yup. Skied Upper North Star after our race Tuesday and the top was getting thin and brown. Same with Milky Way on Sunday. I could see them blowing snow on a few of the trails to resurface, but it doesn't look good. They've put in a valiant effort despite the weather fighting them all the way...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

After taking it a couple of times last week, yes it is slow. But, it seems like a fairly new chair-surprised they're replacing it so soon. Regarding 46'er vs Lies, I'd say the one pitch is probably as steep, but not the whole trail.

    Bristol Conditions

Sunny and soft right off the bat. We got through our morning race with a slip after the first run-in some ways good we had a low turnout or the ruts would have been horrendous. Hot in the sun-I took off a layer at the start under my race suit. Took off the race gear and went out for one more...

Gore / North Creek Lodging and Amenities

Yes, when we were up there last week I was surprised that the pizza/sub place on 28 closed at 3:00 PM on a holiday week. Seems some place in the village of North Creek could make a go of it with casual food, subs and pizza, but apparently not.

    Bristol Conditions

It was good today until it wasn't. Beautiful blue skies, warm, softened up quickly, then by 11:00 or so got very sticky in some spots. Did a couple of runs and called it-hated to as the weather was SO nice, but it was dangerous. On the top of the Loop, I had to get back on the tails of my skis...

    Bristol Conditions

There were a bunch of people at the tables today. I think there is orange fence around the top from the snow as it gets pretty muddy there. There has been talk about them closing it, but I think it would spark a revolt among the regulars. During covid they policed it for open alcohol, but I...
