    Bristol Conditions

The weekend snow helped things on the open terrain. Some of the nicest conditions of the year (although a very low bar!) Obviously no new terrain with the current weather, but looks better for next week. Surprised at how many people were there on a Monday-doesn't anybody work or go to school...

    Bristol Conditions

Progress, even small, is progress. Loop reopened today around noon or so and Lower Rocket was resurfaced so the gravel has been covered over. Snowmaking on Comet, Morningstar, Nova, the connector to Galaxy and a bit on Lower Meteor. Snow wasn't too bad considering...............Hope we get some...

    Bristol Conditions

Let me preface this report by saying Bristol is doing all they can to stay open and blow snow. The warm temps and rain have done their best to make this one of the worst starts in memory. So far this winter has been a turd and we all know they can't be polished................ Skied Christmas...

    Bristol Conditions

Made it down today and did about 9-10 runs. Still only Upper/Lower Rocket, but they were making snow on the loop and the connector to Upper Galaxy. Conditions were fair-crunchy and somewhat icy, although as the sun came out it was better because you could see. Still, pretty depressing for later...

    Bristol Conditions

I think they're being smart by not being open during the week with the limited terrain. When it will really hurt is next week when kids and people are off. Our grandkids often do the Christmas camps and so far nothing on them-hard to do with so little open. Yes, it's been a while since it's been...

    Bristol Conditions

Bristol is closed today for snowmaking, but they plan on opening tomorrow at 9:00. Looks like we will have Upper/Lower Rocket and the loop. I plan on going and will do a report after that.

    Bristol Conditions

First day today at Bristol. Upper/Lower Rocket. They blew snow Wed to renew the surface and it wasn't too bad. Probably got on the slope about 10:45 after seeing friends in the locker room. Not bad-small moguls but edgeable with some slick spots. Crowds had mostly disappeared by the time I got...

    Bristol Conditions

Bristol is opening today with Upper/Lower Rocket. Gonna miss it for the first time in years-recently had an ablation and I'm on aggressive blood thinners. I don't want to be a victim of the WROD carnage-think I'll wait for the loop to open.................

    Automated Speeding Tickets

Seems they would have a RFID detector since most people have the Easypass on their window or dash.

    ORDA Frequent skier card '23-'24

Sounds good, but looking at about 5-5.5 hours for Whiteface.Guess I'll just have to pull myself out of the post season malaise and move on.........................:)

    ORDA Frequent skier card '23-'24

Thanks everyone! Looking at the forecast, seems it will be in the low to mid 70s. As much as I'd like to extend my ski season, probably not worth the four hour drive.

    ORDA Frequent skier card '23-'24

Any idea how soon these go on sale? Can I buy one now? Thinking of Gore on Thursday/Friday to end the season and would just as soon get the lower price if possible. Thanks!

    F Vail

If you read the press release/stockholder meeting report, it's a bunch of corporate speak. I seriously doubt they can deliver anything close to what they promise. Judging from the number of rental skis we saw on our IKON trip (and I'm sure the Epic resorts are no different) just the inventory is...

    Bar up or bar down?

Quick story-we were at Copper last week riding the blue bubble chair. Bar was down, bubble up. We raised the bar early just as a gust caught the bubble and almost dumped us out-there's nothing really to hold on to with the bar up and it's a pretty big drop before you get to the unload platform...

    Magic is Going RFID?

Two instances on our western trip: Snowbasin still has hand scanners where the pass needs to be visible (Ikon pass) like Stratton last year. Keystone (where we got RFID tickets) has no gates, but the lifties have scanners that can read the RFID tickets through clothing. All other places had...

    Bristol Conditions

Withdrawal week (skied last Friday in CO with powder), and with Bristol closed, it's cold turkey unless I want to drive the 5 hours to Killington or even 4 to Gore. I'll make it through, but it's always a tough transition from ski to lake season.Time to start putting the storage wax on and put...

    Bristol Conditions

Should have stayed out there, although I understand the non LCC/BCC mountains are getting totally overrun as no one can get up the canyons. Oh well, Killington trip next week? Got all the days on my IKON pass.:)

Toast! Done for the year. Has to be the earliest closing in quite a few years other than the covid year.
