Day #26 at Belle for me!

Dreadful conditions today. Freezing rain, low visibility, some ice. I got stuck on a chair for 10 minutes and then stuck on a gondola for another 10 before I called it a day, then spun out of control on Route 28 on my way home. Got a nice fire going and I'm delighted to be home.

I drop my kid off at school and then go for a couple of turns before work, at which I'm quite blessed to have flexible hours. Occasionally, I'll go on a weekend but I'm always shocked at the crowds.

The season pass isn't good on those days though, right? So a weekends-only Platty season pass is $779 and a full-season Belleayre pass is $669.

I demand a summary.

Yesterday, at least, they were just very icy. Really anything that wasn't corduroy was, for a skier of my somewhat limited ability, a total no-fly zone. Even the sides of groomed trails were sketchy.

And Belle is still skiing great, as long as one stays on the groomers.

What a difference a day makes. They must have gotten a significant amount of rain yesterday because anything that wasn't groomed overnight was a sheet of ice. Anything off-piste was, for me anyway, almost unskiable.

Wonderfully empty today. My quads are still sore from skiing on Wednesday so I had a very short before-work jaunt. Big T Glades are still in great shape.

I had a perplexing experience the other night. I popped an edible at ~9pm. I didn't feel any effects whatsoever before I fell asleep at maybe 10:30. Then when I woke up in the morning, I was completely off my tits. Thankfully I'm not a surgeon or anything and I work from home. But that's...

Only time I ever got above 100mph was in an Astro and the Astro fought me the whole way.

Nearly everybody there seemed to be an expert skier/boarder. And yet everybody was falling, like all the time. I fell more times than I could count.
