    Is that sell-out?

Just between you and me, the best place to park is always by the Hawk quad.

    ORDA Funding

This is an interesting read, thanks. It reminds us that profit is great and all but it ain't everything. ORDA may lose money every year but 33 of the 34 American medals won at the 2002 Olympics were won by people who trained at Lake Placid. You can't put a price tag on that. I wonder what...

    Belleayre Conditions

Light crowds, great corduroy throughout, with a few blades of grass poking their head through the snow in places. Lift ops were blowing snow everywhere.

    Bobcat, NY: 02/26/05

But Bearpen is still open, in a way, and I have a sneaking suspicion Highmount probably will be soon.

    Magic Conditions

I guess the thing I don't understand is how Stratton and Mount Snow can be relatively OK while Magic is struggling so bad. I know they have much more resources and money and such but at the end of the day, they pretty much have the same weather.

    Belleayre Conditions

Cathedral Brook was always off-limits, unless there was a ton of natural snow. And it's still off-limits, unless there is a ton of natural snow. I guess I don't understand the difference.

    Belleayre Conditions

It's absolutely bonkers how good the conditions are today, just two days after they had 4 inches of 50° rain.

    Belleayre Conditions

It's way better now than it was last season for everybody. My only complaint is that the new lift is kinda slow.

    Belleayre Conditions

I think the new one is narrower. It certainly feels narrower anyway. The old bridge only has one entry point, off of a blue slope. The new one is fed by a ton of trails, all of varying degrees of difficulty. So there are little kids doing pizza slices getting passed by wasted 16-year-olds...

    Belleayre Conditions

Gorgeous day and it feels like most of the mountain is open. Although I might argue that Dot Nebel probably shouldn't have been, as grass was poking through in a couple of places.

    Belleayre Conditions

Well, the conditions are excellent on the slopes that are open. I had a great day in spite of an hilarious wipe out in which one of my skis continued on for a full soccer field after I'd landed on my face. :D I also might be missing something. I thought I was seeing people on Wanatuska (or...

    Belleayre Conditions

Seems like nothing was open past Goat Path today. But there's no easy way to get from Goat Path to the Gondola or any other lift. It's like being on a dead-end one-way street.

    Belleayre Conditions

It rides like a black IMO. Honestly they could label a few black runs as blue. Dot Nebel for example is far easier than Goat Path.

    Windham Mountain Going Private?

This is kind of where I fall. Except that all those people who might have bought a Windham day pass, and now can't, are going to end up at my already-crowded home mountain.

    Windham Mountain Going Private?

Maybe this is obvious to everyone, but I think this is a reaction to the overcrowding at Hunter.

    Windham Mountain Going Private?

Expropriate the "club" and let ORDA take control.

    Belleayre Conditions

Delivery trucks and other vehicles wouldn't be able to get to the Overlook Lodge or the NYSEF building. Plus that would decrease parking spots, which would be less than ideal.

    Belleayre Conditions

You are definitely in the minority. That doesn't make it right or wrong. But Belleayre became a real mountain the day the gondola opened.
