I am seeing the snow/rain starting overnight Saturday into Sunday, and then another round Sunday into Monday, but you know more about these things than me.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

I think a slower lift may contribute to better snow, but it's pretty far down on the list, well below natural snowfall, weather, amount of terrain, a location that deters crowds, weather again, grooming, snowmaking, weather one more time and maybe then it's the slow lift. It's actually the space...

Belleayre has ~18 miles of trails. Which is roughly equivalent to Tahawus+Sleeping Bear+Twister+Showcase+ Wild Air (and adjacent)+Quicksliver+Sunway+Pete's Paradise+1A+2B+3B, etc

Sorry for misinterpreting. I thought you were countering my Hudson Chair needs to be faster point. I don't know enough about the behind the scenes water supply and sewer points, but my biggest gripe about Gore is the speed of the lifts (specifically the Hudson Chair, Topridge and the North...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

You are assuming the changes are linear. In practice, a 20% increase in lift speed (capacity) does not equate to a 20% increase in the number of people on the slopes. It just means you get to the top 20% faster and can therefore ski more. A 20% increase in parking means there are fewer people...

    Gore Mountain Conditions

There are lines at the Hudson Chair? And yes, I would much rather wait 2 minutes on the ground, with my full group, and 8 minutes on the chair, than take a 10 minute chair ride, suspended off the ground, in the wind, with the potential to drop my phone/glove/goggles.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Speaking from personal experience, it is 100% the chair. Every time I venture over I want to ski more, but that chair takes so freakin' long. Also your comment about fixed grip vs. high speed on the High Peaks is all about the wind up there.

SKI3 pass has been like that for at least the past three years (perhaps longer).

    Belleayre sold out again

Gore and Whiteface have really added a ton of bag storage (racks) in the past two seasons. Stands to reason Belle would do the same?

I know someone who is not in management there. He IS losing his job AND getting about 26 weeks of severance (paid weekly to avoid him collecting unemployment). Lotta thanks for the 30+ years of service he put in.

NYS Resident Discount at ORDA Mountains

Sales tax is the second-highest component of tax revenue in NY (higher than corporate and property taxes combined). You certainly don't have to live in NY to pay that.
