They did open Lower Northway which was a nice alternative to the often clogged Excelsior. Upper and Lower Valley are still not ready. No Essex either.

I used to climb in the Gunks a lot but even 10 years ago I stopped climbing on weekends. It's amazing (and dangerous) the crazy that goes on there.

I'm in Wilmington and NYC. I teach for a living and my wife is WFH so we're in Wilmington all summer and about 3-4 days a week during ski season . It's likely our paths have crossed, especially if you ski in the mornings!

If you're up for a (slightly) bigger group, I'd love to join you guys one day this season! Our house is 6 minutes from the mountain and I'm happy to offer apres beers and bourbon!

That looks like one of those chutes way off to looker's right. I was lucky enough to ski a couple of those when I was out there. I sure wasn't hungover though, that's for sure. Nice work!

I am getting crazy psyched for this season! I don't take a lot of pics, but the first is from Revelstoke last year and the second is from Whiteface in January 2021. It snowed about 5-6 inches on the top overnight and we had lovely cold powder in the morning.
