Once again I am missing a storm because of work travel. That said, I will get to ski Bachelor tomorrow and Monday. Still, it's hard to beat your home mountain on a powder day so I find myself wishing I were in Wilmington. Enjoy it folks and post pictures!

How was it today? I'm on travel for work in DC so of course it snows. On the plus side I'll manage to sneak in a few days in summit county later this week...taking the long way home.

I think it's pretty unusual for any resort to be fully open by Xmas week.

They did make some snow last weekend which was after President's Day. It's the first time I can recall that happening in the last 10 years anyway. WRT all of the other hoopla here, I actually think there have been notable improvements during the last two years starting with opening the summit...

Well, I don't think the second part of that sentence follows the first. Wilderness, especially upper wilderness, was just outstanding today. It's true that a lot of the mountain was pretty firm but there was plenty of fun to be had and it sounds to me like you managed to have some of that fun.

I found conditions to be surprisingly great yesterday and today. I thought yesterday would be bulletproof but Skyward was groomed in the AM before opening and was excellent all morning. It was also really fun skiing under the guns on lower mountain. (Yes, they're still blowing at WF. ) Today...
