Also looking to find a way to hit Revelstoke again for a four day weekend. That place just feels so wild! I wish it was a bit easier to get to from here.....

    That August Itch

I'm definitely already psyched to get the season going. I'm booking some of my travel for the season and I just gave up on Japan for the third year in a row but will be heading to Europe to try someplace new. Has anyone been to Alagna, Italy? I would appreciate any beta!

It's cool now and should be a great weekend. Mid 70s during the day and low 50s at night

I bought my second pair of those a few weeks ago. My first pair purchased in 2018 has 200+ days on them. I'm a big fan, but of course they have to fit your foot.

How Many Ski Days in 21/22?

I was hoping for 50-60 this year but I'm at 49 now and I don't think I'll get any more soon. If NZ stays open, I'm thinking I'll get in another week or so this August. I do like Treble Cone. My own guideline for what counts as a ski day is at least 4 runs for lift served. If there's any uphill...

Skyward was very nice indeed on Saturday! Although I was on the lift when it got stuck for about 20 minutes. I was just thankful that it wasn't cold.

    Retirement Planning and Musings

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. This thread seems to have drifted into a conversation about retirement plans which I actually find fascinating since I'm hopefully about 7 years out myself. Still, I found this article about Homewood very interesting and wanted to share...

    Whiteface Conditions

This morning on Skyward was one of those mornings that make all the crap we deal with at WF totally worth it. Just divine and totally unexpected (by me at least). It had some fresh from yesterday and a substantial amount had been blown onto it overnight. Soft lovely turns on upper and nice cold...

Whats the Skinny on the Fatties?

I grew up skiing long and skinny. First time I skied 88s I thought they were crazy fat! Today my daily drivers are Ripstick 88s. They're 12 cm longer than me and I think that helps the floatation in powder. I have a pair of 106 waist for real powder days, same length but a lot more rocker. On...

    Whiteface Conditions

I say something if someone tries to cut on the singles line. Usually something like, "Hey this is the singles line. You're welcome to wait for your friends but they are not cutting in front of the rest of us here". I haven't found it to be that common at WF though, but back in California where...

Thanks, Snoloco. I've had a look online at usual travel sites. The Summit Lodge looks like a fairly popular place. I just thought I would check to see if anyone here had recommendations. I guess I have a little more trust in the folks here than those on tripadvisor.
