    Belleayre Conditions

Good to know. This looks like a mild storm, never supposed to get that heavy and should be tapering by late Sunday night. So I would think Monday morning should be ok... but feel more confident about that for the trip to Belle than Hunter.

    Belleayre Conditions

Thanks - I saw that about the forecast. Are the state roads likely to be fully clear by 8 am if it hasn't snowed all through the night? I've got a Forester with all-seasons. (Yes I'm a stereotype.) I figured 28 should be OK but wasn't sure about the twisty part by the falls on the way to Hunter.

    Belleayre Conditions

Anyone here have thoughts on what Monday at Belle is likely to be like? Open Snow is showing snow from 9 am to around midnight Sunday with maybe 3 inches accumulating after last chair... and also temps falling through from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon so I don't know if that means the...

    Magic Conditions

100% agree that lack of this capacity makes things really rough for Magic. Can you elaborate on "never will" -- do you mean you can't envision them having the resources to make the required upgrades or is there some hard physical constraint like the volume of available water or something that...

    Magic Conditions

Bromley, Stratton, and Mount Snow are all in a line north to south. Magic is a bit to the east, more or less on a line south from Okemo. I haven't had a chance to ski at Magic but I've driven around the area a bunch in both summer and winter. To get from Bromley to Londonderry, where Magic is...

    F Vail

This is exactly who the Epic Day Pass is for. Just went with family to Mt Snow over the run-up to Christmas. For wife and I the total was $250 each for 3 days of skiing. Kids tickets without lessons were $40-50 daily. The Ikon session pass is generally a terrible product but Killington and...

Do you have a sense of the approximate vertical that was served by the t-bar? Would it be a good place to try uphill for the first time? (Not that I have any immediate plans, but filing away for the future...)

    Magic Conditions

Just drove by Prospect a couple times in the past week on the way to/from Mt Snow! My 8yo is interested to try xc and they were making snow in the cold temps last week but were not able to open before we headed home. Amend the bromley claim to the highest base elevation among lift-served...

    Magic Conditions

Magic is at significantly lower elevation. The other three public southern Vermont ski areas all have base elevation at approximately 1900 ft, I believe bromley's is the highest in the state. Magic's base is at like 1350. The summit is below 3000 ft. That's more comparable to elk in PA than a...

    Windham Mountain Going Private?

They are on Ikon and Ikon Base this year, with reservations required. Chip Seamans has said they will likely leave Ikon Base next year and probably leave Ikon entirely at some point in future -- this was in the Storm Skiing article a couple months ago.

    The Indy Pass

The available dates are continuous. Basically a few days before Christmas through MLK is blacked out for the discount, and then all of Feb through the middle of March is blacked out. So that's a lot blacked out, but if you time your trip when it's available you can use it every day. Doesn't...

Hickory Ski Center Might Be Reopening

From Storm Skiing post today: "Cronheim says Hickory will limit Indy redemptions to 30 per day and will offer another 30 tickets to the general public. " Plus I assume a pretty high fraction of season ticket holders will show up on those days.
