Last couple years lodging has been crazy expensive everywhere around K January -March. Even the dive hotels in Rutland are getting $200 a night. To the point for me at least I can't even afford to go for a weekend at least not a Saturday. Midweek prices are reasonable.

I understand that but when you need to last minute change hotels good to try and at least get some feel for it. Is a west wind normally problematic? I don't ski it enough to know
