Summer Weather? NY Mesonet 8/1/23. Low Temps this am. Old Forge 38, Gabriels 39, Tupper Lake 40. Heading the right way.

It's bogus because Saranac Lake does not have an official or unofficial weather station. Lake Clear does. And that is where the data comes from, not Saranac Lake.

The temps that Saranac Lake reports are bogus. They take the readings from the airport in Lake Clear which is a notorious cold spot. They just like the attention of being the Cold Spot in the country, dubious distinction at best.

Inflation? Supply Chain issues? How about Greedflation?

Aren't we now in "Summer" weather? Coulda fooled me, yesterday morning Old Forge dropped to 30 and Tupper Lake to 32 according to NYS Mesonet site. After close to 90 on Friday. And this week will see a couple days that wont get to 60. No happy medium, Summer in the Adirondacks.

Spring in the central Adirondacks, NYS Mesonet this am: 28 Old Forge, 30 Tupper Lake with frost both mornings. Heavy enough to cause leaf damage on many trees.

WF Sunday, Looks like a little warmer and should soften every thing up nicely except the usual aspects that don't get direct sun, Upper Northway & Essex.

Agree, Upper third of Mtn run skiers right stayed nice until 2 pm or so. Unfortunate but predictable with Summit and Wilmington shut down for wind. Gondi on and off though. Upper Northway was surprisingly good also as well as the upper section on Wilderness.

MIne are about 15 yrs old and pretty flat but still ski nice in the BC. I think MADSU took over Karhu and maybe the same type ski is available?

NYS Mesonet for Whiteface had a high of 44 today, a few minutes ago it was 39 and raining. Back to variable conditions.

Just saw they reported 600” at the summit. Pallisades Tahoe announced they will be open until June. They are only reporting over 500” though.

Crazy winter. 2/20 I washed cars in the driveway w no jacket. 2/23 we get 8 or 9 inches by early am and its 14 degrees. By 7 pm it's 36 w a rain snow sleet mix, creating a nice heavy crust layer by 2/24 am at 8 degrees. Sat 2/25 am it's -18 with a high temp of 12. Sunday we get an unforecasted...
