Stuart talks to Alterra CEO (IKON)

I'm trying to figure out which is worse, boilerplate or boilerplate with lackluster grooming. Maybe it's the latter since it at least has the word "grooming" in it.

    The Little Cottonwood Canyon Gondola

In the absence of any other lift experts on this blog, I think a tram is one that has two support cables and a haul rope. A gondola has a haul rope only. The Whistler Peak-to-Peak has 22 seated, 6 standing. So.....yes?

    The Little Cottonwood Canyon Gondola

I read the post and thought it was a good idea. I read the first comment and though it might not be. Then I read the 2nd comment and thought it was a good idea again.

    Building a House with Wood

Absolutely. Knowledge without arrogance. Yes, I like the deep window sills. Our place is Adirondacky and with a walk-out basement. The deep sills make it feel like a house built in the 1880's, but with level floors and no drafts.

    Building a House with Wood

About 5 years ago the state had a program where they sent you a hockey puck sized thing that trapped radon. You put it in the deepest bowels of your basement and then sent it back for analysis. They would then send a reading of your radon level. I think you paid for shipping. Maybe $10 in...

    Building a House with Wood

Correct. But I do like the insulated concrete foam foundation. It's well insulated and allows for deep window sills.

    Building a House with Wood

Yep. Our upper floor is all spray foam. A little too well insulated as we get condensation on the windows.....and the interior of the windows is stained wood. The basement is batts. I'm told the spray foam adds some structural support, although I don't know how much. There is also open- and...

The overland craze is out of control

It seems to me that there is more efficiency these days, but that efficiency is plowed back into horsepower rather than increased gas mileage. For instance, where it may have been 20 miles/gallon with a 200 horse engine, now you get 20 miles/gallon on 300 horsepower.....I'm making up these...

    ORDA Funding

I think a Pisten Bully 600 with winch is about $350k. But it comes with drink holders and that "new cat" smell.

I laugh at this well known description. It's the most ridiculous 3 words in skiing.....a green run with a headwall.
