I went thru the kid thing. From 3-11 he'd come ski with me. Once he was in middle school he said "I'll ski with you any day you pull me out of school, otherwise, I'd rather sleep late on weekends. But, I'll still ski when we're away on vacation."

Maybe it's because I don't live near any mountains, but the I don't know anyone who buys a season pass unless they have a second home at a mountain. Some have bought Epic or Icon because they do a week out West.

Not great for the future of the sport. I see season passes ever drawing in new skiers into the sport.

I doubt there’s 2” yet, but it does hide the ice. Makes for some scary turns every once in a while. Still coming down hard.

Has anyone been to Belle this week post heat wave? Thinking of skiing Friday and Saturday and trying to get a sense of how it is. On the gondola right now. You won’t e skiing in the woods, that’s for sure. Bring sharp skis. Should be dust on crust by the end of today.

Haven't been to Mountain Creek in over ten years, but still remember my best lift ride. Shared the ride up with 2 cops who were talking about how one of them and another cop beat the shit out of some guy as they were arresting him. Towards the top of the lift, one of them leans over and says...

I was at Belle yesterday. Firm and fast were conditions of the day.

Pretty amazing here today. No lines except for a few minutes at the gondola. It’s only noon and my legs are screaming.

It’s been snowing on the top half of the mountain most of the day. Only rain at the base.

Still rain in North Creek. 34 degrees. Doesn’t look like I need to rush to get to the mountain.

Any decent restaurants in Lake George for dinners? Don't need fancy, but I do appreciate good food.

Trying to decide where to drive tomorrow for the storm. The above post has me concerned about choosing to ski Gore Thursday and Friday this week. How much more do you think will be open if they get at least 10"? There's always VT.

I was hoping for deeper powder.

Monday' snow really helped the mountain. True packed powder. Everything was soft and edgeable yesterday. Not what typically passes as packed powder in the NE.

How about, actions speak louder than words. Doesn't look like they are doing anything to open the West Side at all.
