No snowmaking anywhere above the Sunway chair according to today's snow report. No Uncas, no Sagamore, not even Open Pit. That's unbelievable. When does Ashley the luger step in the way she did last year at Whiteface? mm

Really? The Zippy Bowl thng is $40 million, not counting the sewer system Johnsburg reneged on. It's worse than that. Snowmaking weather can disappear by mid-February. They're probably gonna have to start making snow for that course in about 2 weeks, especially since apparently they don't have...

They need to do that because even what they have opened this year was never adequately covered. This year is a complete fail. mm

So they expanded their trail network but abandoned arguably the best trails on the main mountain because they don’t have adequate snowmaking to support the whole area, and now they won’t open the new area on weekdays? On weekdays now we’ll have less to ski there than 50 years ago. OTOH they...

You can’t run on diesel unless you have another backup. I think only Burnt Ridge has a second backup and that one shuts down at 330 anyway. It doesn’t matter. No one except Sno is riding the lifts after 3 pm. mm

Belleayre is in that too. I don’t know about Whiteface. I think snowmaking is more load than lifts, so there’s that. mm

Gore has been open for about 9 weeks now and Presidents Day , when they typically shut down snowmaking, is only 5 weeks away. So it’s gonna take a miracle. mm

Bone must be aware of all the criticism Gore is getting this year but he won't meet with a sympathetic stakeholder. He can't answer questions like "why is Belleayre (with all it's problems) doing so much better than Gore this year?" of "why no Sagamore yet?" or "why have even the green trails...

So they built an entire quad chair with a belt loader specifically to make it easier for inexperienced skiers to get up the mountain, but they don't maintain the easy way down? mm

That’s the dividing line on Gore. If you’re happy to get lost and skate around for a while to figure it out you’ll like Gore. If you always want to know where you are and the easiest way to get where you want to go, you’ll have a hard time there. It’s like a Rorschach test on snow. mm

I do enjoy my life, but I saw last year that when complaints about Whiteface went public, ORDA fixed it. The same happened at Windham at least twice in the past. I think the same thing will happen at Gore, or I wouldn't bother with this. If you think I come across as angry here, you should read...

It's not a conspiracy theory when you can see what they are doing with your own eyes. They have expanded the area before they have adequate snowmaking and patrol to support it. They don't even have adequate snowmaking for the main mountain, even before they need to build the Hole Shot course. mm

But at least Burnt Ridge didn't cost $40 million. mm

That's the the ski business. Never give cash back, just credits that require you to put more money in to use. They ought to do real refunds, and base it on hotel nights, not just pass use. mm

Parking was always the best thing about Ski Bowl, and now even that is ruined. mm

The whole interconnect is a misconceived joke. The point of Backwoods was to have an easier way to the Burnt Ridge quad and Ski Bowl. But if your comfort level is Backwoods, you're not gonna have the skating/gliding skills to cross Cedars easily, and you're gonna be terrified on the steeper...
