The lift lines started getting long but the slopes were uncrowded. When I left at 12:30 there was a line to get tickets. People saw me carrying my skis to my car and were following me to get my spot.

Mechanical machines sometimes break without warning. Good inspection and maintenance can minimize machines from breaking but you can't totally eliminate somethings from breaking at some point. When is the last time you heard of a lift being down at Elk?
