    Spring Weather 2023

Skiers are the only people I know who obsess about weather as much as horse people. I love it. I am hoping for a decent recovery from tomorrow and Saturday's rain for one (probably) last day on Sunday.

    Spring Weather 2023

Ithaca is about a foot less than normal, but where I live it's usually double. I only had to get my driveway done a few times. https://www.nrcc.cornell.edu/wxstation/ithaca/ithaca.html

I didn't win the lottery and I'm ok with that. The staff and faculty that did win a ticket will be in the bleachers at the back of Barton. I am not quite sure that is conducive to dancing.

It was better than I thought it would be, given the rain we had yesterday. Christy's was completely lovely with untouched corduroy at 9:30 and stayed soft until I left at noon. I did one run down Stoic, which was less than ideal. I am curious to hear how the rest was.

    Spring Skiing?

There is always the bunny slope to work on your turns. I have a theory that the best snow is on the bunny slope. The key things are to watch the hourly temperature forecast and plan your attack, watching for shade and knowing where will it will soften up first. My favorite (closing :() day...

    Winter Weather 22/23

Cornell has closed for tomorrow already. I am filling pots of water to ward off power outages. From my very amateur perspective, I don't think that it's going to be that bad. The ground isn't frozen. With a wee bit of luck, I get a free play day!

This has become my favorite time waster. Watching those kids zoom to the rope tow is mesmerizing. Thanks for sharing it.

Chair 2 was running today. A guy from ski patrol said they made snow last night, but he didn't know where. Top of Iliad, maybe? There was a weird ridge that went part way down.

Definitely the best day of the year so far. Light, fluffy powder and it never really got crowded. Every one was having fun.

That is for VIP seating, which may just be part of the seating. Still, it just doesn't seem quite right.

I will definitely be outside. It's a benefit and tickets are $50,000, according to something my office mate just shared with me. :p

Even if they hold it in Barton, you could still sit outside and hear it. I read that Barton Hall holds 4700. I don't see them holding it in Barton. Slope day is on May 10. There will be a stage set up for that. Lots of people can fit on Libe Slope. That is my guess.

Dead and Company at Cornell? The speculation is crazy. The deans in my college seem to know something, but we can't get anything out of them.
