Leaf season is over up here. Unless you want to see the tamaracks turning color. The Flaming Leaves Festival shoulda been called the Just Past Peak Festival.

    Protect The Adirondacks

What part of the Ho is to be traded in this proposal? I haven't seen anything about this. The article in today's Adirondack Daily Enterprise is breathtakingly obtuse. If they're suggesting giving 350 acres of town land to the DEC, why not say it out front.

    Protect The Adirondacks

The Ho should have gotten an Article XIV exemption at the same time as Whiteface. Still curious about why the can was kicked down the road, and who kicked it.

Agreed. Tequila has been a growth category for some time. Unfortunately, something like this casts a pall over the entire category. Back in the day, I recall a scandal where some Austrian winemakers were caught adding a chemical to their sweet wines. You spent half of every sales call...

    Living in the Mountains

Only recently have Canadians returned to the Tri-Lakes. And not in the numbers I'm accustomed to seeing. The Can-Am hockey tournament season has begun. Curious as to how many teams will come down from Ontario.

I've never been a fan of celebrity tequilas (although George Clooney hasn't been involved with Casamigos for several years). But I was today years old when I learned about these lawsuits. @Brownski any thoughts...

I can't speak to North Creek. Up here in shoulder season, places will shut down for a week to give their employees a break before winter. Or they'll shorten their hours.

    Fall Weather 2025

Yesterday afternoon, Franklin County had a red flag warning. Warm, super low humidity, high winds, drought. High chance of fire. Ugh.

    Trail Running

Chapeau. Was the maple syrup/espresso/salt a gel or a drink. I'd be curious about the proportions. I was into Untapped's maple syrup ginger drink mix for a while. In a trail half marathon, though, it became quite cloying.

    ORDA's Biggest Mistakes

Here we f'n go. Everyone and their brother is jumping on the bandwagon and making a mountain out of a molehill. This hatchet job looks like it's largely a cut and pasted copy of the Adirondack Explorer piece. EDIT: I'd be ashamed to put anything like this out under my byline.

    Sweet Cars and Trucks

Yesterday, I spotted this bad boy in LP. Steyr-Daimler-Puch manufactured the Pinzgauer 712, in Austria. Off-road, super mobile, all six wheels are driven. In 2000, manufacturing rights were sold to an English company. Unsure what year this one is. The Mercedes Benz W460 (military...

The ID.Bus or the old school 23-window Microbus are the only minivans I'd want to own. ID.Bus = not my tax bracket.
