    F Vail

I skied at Jack Frost this past Sunday because i had one epic ticket from a 2-pack to use. They now open at 9:00 instead of 8:00. They also cut hours at Big Boulder. They had 3 of 7 lifts from the bottom running. I asked a liftie if they were going to open more lifts as the lines started...

    West Mountain, NY - 2/9/22

Skied West yesterday for the first time. The mountain and conditions were both better than I expected. If I lived close by I would definitely get a weekday pass for night skiing.

Magic commented on the video in their Alpine Update today. "While the old Soviet-era, Russian-branded Stoli vodka, meaning “Capital City” with its 1940s Moscow hotel still on its label, is now filtered, bottled and exported from Latvia, it’s grain is from and distilled in, the Tambov region of...

Thomas Friedman in his NYT op-ed piece today included this line, "At the Magic Mountain Ski Area in Vermont, a bartender poured bottles of Stolichnaya vodka down the drain." Wonder if he skis at Magic? Thomas Friedman NYT Article

    West Mountain Conditions

Planning on skiing West tomorrow for the first time on my way to Vermont. Glad to hear the conditions are good.

    ORDA Funding

I'm all for a new trail parallel to Echo. Echo is the only way back to the main base from Burnt Ridge/Ski Bowl without taking Hedges and the North Quad then skiing back to the base. I understand racing brings money to the mountain but letting the racers take over Echo every weekend is stupid...

    Catamount Conditions

I skied there last Monday before the super soaker. Conditions were good and though crowded, the lines moved quickly. I think next year with the new lift and improved snowmaking that it will be a much improved experience. I heard that Berkshire East has picked up a lot of the Mount Snow day...

Whats the Skinny on the Fatties?

They groomed the lower part. Probably need a winch cat to get the top with that hard base underneath. It was all very carvable though. You still would have ripped it. I know I did with my 88 underfoot skis three times. :)

    Greek Peak Conditions

Everything was pretty good today. Upper Arcadian Gate was getting thin. The lower half was good but probably won't last too long without some more snow. Crowds weren't bad at all. Was riding the 1 double around noon because the line was short to nonexistent. At one point it got a little long so...

    Greek Peak Conditions

I plan on being there tomorrow to use my second Indy Pass day. Blue Obermeyer parka and black Dynastar Legends if anyone wants to take a few runs.

    Catamount Conditions

Wow! I skied there on Monday and conditions were spring like but pretty good. I thought they did a great job grooming with what they had to work with. While the Schaefers have made many improvements since buying the place it still doesn't have the snowmaking power of Berkshire East. Looks like...

    The New Normal

I agree. While I followed all of the mandates before the vaccines were available, I only wear a mask now if it is requested. At this point if you are vaxed and get Covid you are much less likely to be hospitalized and even less likely to die. The latest mask mandates were to keep hospitals and...

    The New Normal

Sno sounds a lot like my son at his age....A Rebel Without a Cause. If Covid had never happened he would have found something (or several things) to bitch about. He needs to find out what he's really mad about. But that would likely take years of therapy and he already knows everything. Sno, I...

    Berkshire East Conditions

I was there yesterday as well. Wish I knew you where coming I would have tried to have met up for a few runs. We also got there around 10:00. I was with my daughter, son-in-law, and 15 mo. old grandson. It's hard to get an early start with a toddler. I agree that the conditions were quite good...

Never had a Ski Tote but did have one of those exact boot carriers. Totally forgot about that until I saw the picture.
