Mad River's single is case in point for empty trails. The ski bowl's lift is perfect for the amount of skiing available there. If we had a ton of snow, the tree skiers would all be there and probably a lift line. I love the bowl and my first two runs when they are open are 46er and Moxam...

i would love to see them develop Highmount. It and Plattekill were my go toos growing up in Northern NJ. I may be wrong but NYS bought it and were sued by neighboring ski areas and were not allowed to develop it. I think NYS still owns it.

30k is not that difficult at Gore when you are skiing what we are skiing now. yes Burnt Ridge is the easiest but I did 17,500 from 8:30 to Noon on Sunday and I started at the bowl and went all around from summit to base and no Gondola. Best vert is obviously Burnt Ridge but Bear (gondola yuck)...
