    Wolf Creek & Pajarito - Feb '24

Wow I knew they are more known for full sun than storm skiing, that looks beautiful! We left Pagosa Springs around 6:15am and probably arrived around 10 with a couple stops. Road was snow and ice packed the entire way haha, didn't crack 45mph for probably about 80% of the drive but it was a nice...

    Wolf Creek & Pajarito - Feb '24

Wow yes I forgot to mention that about Pajarito, getting ID'd and told "no photos until you get up to the mountain" while driving through the Los Alamos National Laboratory to get up to the access road. I knew the place must have some really cool history based on that and those lifts but I...

    Wolf Creek & Pajarito - Feb '24

While we certainly got lucky with timing, an educated guess was made while observing weather patterns about a month ago. I threw a dart for a weekend that seemed like it could be at the end of a longer stint of high pressure, BUT, all the stars really had to align for us to catch two mountains...

Where are you skiing this week?

Good lord. Booked this trip weeks out without powder in mind, wound up with this forecast anyway. Pray for my wife she’s barely 5 ft tall

Idk if this goes here but pretty cool update from Taos

    Powder days are overrated.

The same has occurred in surfing, to an extreme extent too. Luckily in New Jersey there is ample coastline for uncrowded waves but in places with feature surf breaks and heavy metro centers, it has become an absolute free-for-all. No etiquette, no taking turns, everyone snaking each other, lack...

    Powder days are overrated.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment here but think it can be rephrased to: skiing at popular mountains is overrated, mega passes are overrated, and skiing in crowds sucks!

I had Purg in mind too as the town of Durango has a lot to offer but I guess I wanted to give my wife a taste, or at least some nice views of above tree line skiing. I also want to give the Durango area the attention it deserved rather than just a quick stop.

Nah it's cool, I have the logistics already already planned out so I don't need much more insight. Thanks @MarzNC for confiming that WC is indeed a great intermediate mountain! My wife has literally only skied Platty, Pico, and Titus so I'm sure any choice won't really matter to her as long as...

@raisingarizona @jamesdeluxe Thanks guys and no worries the convo goes where it flows. Platty gets enough air time around here I think haha. Definitely stopping in Santa Fe so that info really helps it looks like a beautiful mountain.

Thanks! I was looking at the Santa Fe trail map and it looks great but I think it seems just a tad advanced skier oriented for her. How’s the pitch compared to wolf’s abundance of intermediate terrain?

I've ridden at Taos before but no others. I haven't decided on exactly where but possibly a little road trip to Pagosa Springs/Wolf Creek and hit Pajarito on the rebound. The wife and I LOVE that whole region. We visited Las Cruces/White Sands/Santa Fe on an April trip with no skiing in the past...

So many families are now present where it was once just the boys chasing at the last minute. I can see how a nice big rental in a place with ample activities for many would be an awesome time regardless of conditions and no matter who skis what. Looking forward to those days but I think I'll let...

Nice photos👌🏼. We don’t get that sunlight peaking through too often around the east.

I had a thigh injury so bad that I never wanted to ski trees again! My wife had actually convinced me (prior to the season) to take a year off the slopes and spend the money on surf trips hence Brazil. With her enjoying quality time between just us two on the hill though, her whole mindset has...
