    Good tire? Any complaints?

Interesting as you ride a dramatically different tread than the knobby tires on my bike. The Maxxis Assegai (below) that I just ordered are similar to my existing tires just more aggressive and softer rubber. Either way it should help as my existing tires are already worn from a lot of gravel...

    Sugarbush Conditions

Going to Sugarbush in a couple weeks for just a day of skiing and some apres Lawsons. Really looking forward to it as we haven't been to Sugarbush for several years. I like Lawsons but if there's someplace else that has great beers I'm open for suggestions. PS-- OMG if we didn't have our Ikon...

    Today's Ride

Yeah I've seen some blogs where people talk about DIY studs. I love the ingenuity! But spikes are out for me based on several more things besides scratching up the inside of my car and risk of damaging clothing loading/unloading. Weight, rolling resistance and just not doing what I want. I...

Yup I remember the ideal gas law. But I actually lower the pressure for the snow. My thought is more tread on the ground = more traction. We're not hitting berms or rolling fast over roots so it's not like I'm gonna roll off the rim. I'm tubeless so no risk of pinch flats. Yeah that's a good...

    Today's Ride

Yesterday I had a good discussion with a very helpful rep at Specialized about winter tires for my Turbo Levo eMTB. He said I should be able to go a little wider but need to make sure I keep 6mm per side clearance. That means I might be able to get up to 3" which is up from my stock 2.6" But he...

    Bristol Conditions

Was hoping to ski this weekend but I'm just not sure due to the Thursday melt followed by refreeze. Saturday could be boilerplate--- but it could also be groomed goodness, especially early when I would go. I think I'm out for Sunday due to the snow on Saturday night which could make Sunday an...

How's Rocket? Saturday it was awful with all rock hard pack and ice. Thanks for the warning about the Cleveland racers. I'll get mentally prepared😁

    Today's Ride

Ha-- I'm doing things now at 63 that if you asked me 4 years ago I'd think you were crazy. It was only about 3 years ago when an experience rider asked me if I "trail ride at night"--- I looked at him like he had a 3rd eye on his forehead 🤣 Not yet. I'm looking at tire options from 45Nrth...

    Today's Ride

It was 24F last evening during the ride so not too cold. A casual 2hr ride with a few stop and chats. Snow was fairly dry and grippy and thankfully the trails were packed from previous riders.

    Football

We loved Boston Legal!!! But it's been many years so it might be time to rewatch. Thanks for the idea! My favorite rewatch is Breaking Bad. I just rewatched some of season 2 while flying to and from New Mexico. I've rewatched the entire series more times than I'm willing to confess 🤣

Thanks for the recommendation. Added The are murderers to my watch list. We just finished the second season of The Diplomat. Really good and ended with a heck of a cliffhanger.

Glad KC got trounced. Didn't watch a second of the game nor even follow it. We watched the Netflix OJ series instead.

    Today's Ride

Great 6.5mi ride with the guys today. About 4" of fresh snow overnight left the woods magically beautiful. Lake Ontario looking cold and icy. I really need to get some wider tires and maybe even studded. Another bike tech friend is thinking Shwalbe radials instead of studded might be better...

    Bristol Conditions

Saturday February 8- day 1 at Bristol for me this season. We arrived around 815 and knew we had to get on the mountain quickly as 5 school buses and a tour bus were arriving. Was on the chair shortly after 830am. Headed straight over to Galaxy and Northstar. Polaris-Northstar top to bottom was...

    Today's Ride

I run pretty hot when I'm moving so generally I go the with old adage, "be bold, start cold." For legs I wear a fleece compression layer and/or merino layer, then on top of those I wear Eddie Bauer Guide Pro pants. If it's really cold like now I'll wear some soft shell pants that I might wear...

    Going Under the Knife

My friend's wife had the surgery in early November and she expects to ski this month. They explored other treatment options putting it off for a few years, but she was frequently in a lot of pain and taking a lot of pain meds so wanted it done. Surgery went great. Installed plates and screws...
