I agree with this. Still. The way to do it would be to change the law and THEN cut the trees. I googled it. The penalty is $200 per tree. Sort of pointless to levy the fine on taxpayers. Seems like there should be some consequence for breaking the law.

Until last year Gore always measured snow at the main base (1500'). Last year was crazy sometimes they'd use the summit even when it was rain at the base, and add it to the yearly total. I was told that the report comes from patrol, and sometimes when that report didn't come, they call it...
