Voted Plattekill on account of old school lifts, ample tree skiing, lots left ungroomed, no lines. But really they are 4 very different areas. Hunter dynamited and mobbed, Belleayre bifurcated and then gondolad, Windham increasingly elite. Also hard to say which 2 are most similar. I guess H&W.

Still no lines at midday. And nice conditions on Belt and Hellgate on down. Looks like next to open will by Minya and Overlook.

Nice - planning to hit it tomorrow

Perfect conditions on Deer Run today with about 3 inch of soft snow over the base. Seneca and Peekamoose slicker than I would like. 2 minute line at Gondola nothing at Hawk

I'd say a huge factor in how crowded it is will be whether Hunter is open yet. With an Epic Pass I am only hitting Belleayre Friday as the closest Epic option is in VT. Hoping to get there at open Fri to beat the crowds.

Hoping they get folks up early enough to groom after the freeze. Think they will? Fortunately really not all that much to groom. One top to bottom run and two upper runs. Should be able to get that done before a 9am open.

Nice to see all that snow blowing and on the ground on the cams and even a with some natural to fall this eve. Hope any rain does not wash it away and hoping to ski Friday. Plan B is pay for 3 of us to ski Belleayre.

For a private business it would be irrational to price based on costs. You price to maximize revenue. Find the optimal place on the curve where the # of sales you lose by raising the price makes it less profitable to raise the price. Admittedly a govt run operation may not price to maximize profit.

Yes no doubt their goal was to screw the people that make their business profitable. Pretty sure weekends, holidays and powder days are the only days non-destination ski areas with no night skiing make a profit

Hoping they open tomorrow and glad that - if they are going to do so - they are not announcing it well in advance. That would lead to more crowds. If they announce it tonight we will be there tomorrow. And if they do not, I am still glad for those who got to enjoy it yesterday or today.

Skied worse conditions there closing weekend in April - though more was open

Nice! Wonder what the odds are of skiing next weekend? They were selling tix for the 18th last I checked.
