    Whoa. Killington sold.

Well, that was then. Who knows, now. New bosses in town.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

I golfed there many moons ago. Almost impossible to walk, but, nice. Mountain golf is different. Some of the MTB berms have changed the tree skiing in some places. Too bad they are too tight to ski.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

One of the most unexpected things I found at Belle Plagne, a small "village" we stayed at La Plagne in France, in the giant Paridiski, was a four lane bowling alley. I mean, we were basically an assemblage of buildings built around a tram mid station. I'd love to know how they keep it level...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

Half of Jay's skiers come over from Canada.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

    Jay has all that.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

I've always wanted to hear the "against". It only needs two lifts. The stupid village concept will kill it for, maybe, ever. No way they're spending all that money so everyone can go park down at Pico.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

I don't mountain bike anymore, but I am told they have become quite the place to do that in the last decade. I think it's because they've figured out how to design trails for the family/middle market. One of the few mountains that sells a 365 day pass.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

It's a funny game. There was recently a famous trial in NY state convicting a politician of over and under valuing his business assets, which everybody does, and they took all his money as a penalty.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

They aren't dumping everything because that action would dilute the asking price of their remaining assets. They'd be setting the market with that sudden fire sale. They've already signalled blood in the water by putting Bachelor on the market at the same time. The sharks must be circling, and...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

They are a ski "resort" operator. They have been since inception. Why are they selling Killington, probably the most visited hill in Vermont, and Bachelor, a very popular hill in the Northwest that gets filled up with eastern ski clubs, despite the distance? You really can't find hills in any...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

What somebody will pay at the moment.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

Wow. Vail paid 100 million for Seven Springs? I'm telling you, if I was a big short seller, I'd be all over that company. Unfortunately, when the cracks start widening, they're going to leave a lot of dead and dormant ski areas behind. Something is fishy about this sale. Something tells me...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

Nope. This is a private transaction, so, neither side has to state it.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

In other words, another product of the financialization of America. The only way to make real money is usury or running a quasi pyramid scheme that gets supported by stock buybacks, in the end, which should be banned. I was reading a thing about Buffet yesterday, and even he is buying his own...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

I've been saying for some time that Vail is going to start throwing some stuff off the side, especially the smaller Eastern stuff they got in the Peak deal. Problem is, who's going to buy that stuff? Especially since money isn't free anymore? I mean, if I was a billionaire hedgie, maybe the last...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

Well, yeah, that's key. These people aren't known for throwing their money into a bonfire. They both have a vision or game plan for them to spend this money. We'll just have to wait and see what that is. I'm skeptical that the price of beer will be cheaper, though. Thankfully I've shifted to a...

    Whoa. Killington sold.

Well, this is the company that lost Park City to Vail due to a clerical error, and then closed down the bump fest parking lot party at Bear mountain using state troopers first season of ownership. So, not the brightest bulbs in the industry. Looks like they're being forced into selling a lot of...

The future looks bright for the 20 dollar apres beer.

    Whoa. Killington sold.

Well, two long term Killington skiers is good, but, that ain't locals money. They both have homes there, but, doubtful they live there. Unfortunately, they are committed to the village and WC.
