    Today's Hike

Went over to a spot called Mountain Home Ridge. In my opinion, this is the best of the "low commitment" walk in the Leavenworth area. A 20 minute ascent gets you some pretty amazing views.... Looking up Tumwater Canyon at Cashmere Mountain (7800ft +/-) Looking back at the Wenatchee Valley...

    Today's Hike

Roaming around our most creatively named canyon... Number 2. This sits directly South of it's companion canyon Number 1. No particular objective for this walk... If the stars align this is a sweet spot for the finest low elevation Hippy Pow in the valley. Unfortunately, the trailhead sits...

    Old School Trail Maps

This one isn't all that old-school, but I'm putting this place on my bucket list. I like visiting remote areas. Looks like a community area. The back and side-country terrain look pretty sweet. Surrounding peaks top out at 17k. Maybe someday, Vail will buy this place, and make it easier to...

    The Incredible Music Thread

If you want a mind expanding cartoon experience, checkout Midnight Gospel on Netflix.... psychedelics... this cartoon would be awesome on any of them. The soundtrack has interesting tunes... this one is stuck in my head. If you need to choose between armor and love, don't make my mistake...

    The Incredible Music Thread

I was introduced to Stevie as a youngster in the early 80's. My older brother had a huge crush on her. The Leather & Lace duet with Don Henley was a great tune for a crush. IMO: The era of the 70's & early 80's has produced some amazing music... true compositions with old school sound...

    PNW Conditions

This should be an interesting call on the start of snowmaking over here. Guns are set to fire on 11/1.... maybe they'll start early... it's looking like about a foot above 5k, with a fairly cold pattern in the near term. To further complicate things, the bubble chair install is still in progress

    Helmets bro!

It's not just in Jersey... I think it's gone nationwide. About 5 seasons ago, I collided with a lil-kamikaze. It wasn't totally my fault, but it got me an earful. :)

    Today's Hike

This is my favorite time of year for hiking. Out in Eastern WA this week, taking a WFR cert course at 49 Degrees North. Got out for a short walk yesterday in the ski area.... got hassled by security, so I didn't get very far. Never skied here, but looks like a sweet spot. Base of Sunrise...

    Old School Trail Maps

My poor mother! I actually went to church that day. (I'm a godless Jew raised Catholic) My parents were away playing bingo down in AC. It was long before cell phones... there was a message on the answering machine from the hospital when they got home. The message was something like "We can't...

    Full Tilt Ascendants

Just picked up a pair of Ascendants from Full Tilt. I'm retiring a 10yr old BD Quadrants. From my living room they feel like the most comfortable boots I have worn in a while. Anybody have any previous on-mountain experience with these?
