I’ve crafted a pair out of necessity. Don’t grind too quickly or you will remove the temper from the pliers. Delicate work for sure.

Take an expendable pair of needle nose pliers and grind nice points on the end.

How about a small loader with a york rake? I would think that would be a better application than a skid steer for spreading topsoil.
