    Caberfae Peaks, Cadillac Mi: 2/11/23

Well after going back to NY and skiing at Gore a little over a week ago I was wondering if I will be bored on a 400’ hill. Let’s just say it was like putting in an old pair shoes. Last week when we had the cold snap here Caberfae had blown snow for 65 hours non stop in a number of select areas...

Where are you skiing this week?

Because I am back in Michigan I am going to my home hill of Caberfae Peaks and we will ski that Mole hill until our legs feel like it’s a mountain. Also going to be close to 40 degrees and sunny so burgers on the grill in the parking lot

    Gore Mtn, NY: 2/2/23

Would have like to ski Friday also, but the good chance of frostbite just wasn’t worth it. I know I could have ridden the gondola, but the runs to get back to the base of the gondola are fairly long.

I try to get at least one ski trip in with my daughter each season, sometimes we stay in Michigan and ski at multiple different ski areas over a span of 4 or 5 days. Last year we did a two day trip to Holiday Valley and we all set to do the same thing when my cousin from the Albany area asked...

    New Gore Trail

Personally I really like the new trail and being a Thursday there was no issue at the bottom when it got narrow. We never waited more than two groups of people for any lift today

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Parts of Gore looked like it got around an inch of snow on top to the groomed snow this morning. The manmade snow on Cloud was a nice dry snow. Overall I was happy with conditions today. Not much ice, just from snow you could get an edge in

Where are you skiing this week?

I ski 300’ - 400’ hills 99.9% of the time. I only wish I could have a debate as to whether the gondola should be opened or closed during the week. You have no idea how good you have it, with no matter what is open or closed

Where are you skiing this week?

The gondola is definitely in the plan along with my heated vest under my jacket. for Friday. I am also hoping that with the different pods we can find one where the wind may not be much of an issue

I am heading back home to NY and skiing Gore for the first time in 10 years on Thursday and Friday. Too bad the real cold air couldn't hold off for one more day.

    Michigan Conditions

Best snow of the season this weekend. A firm but very easy to get an edge in on Saturday followed by a nice 3 inches of new snow over night with sunshine on Sunday. Good weekend camping in Caberfae Peaks parking lot

    Jiminy Peak Conditions

Doesn't sound like much has changed since I skied there 12 years ago except for the RFID gates.

Boyne Mtn. Boyne Falls, Mi 1/12/23

One of the oldest in the US. It has gone through a lot of changes. Funny thing is they are redeveloping the original area now. https://www.michiganskier.com/ski-news/feature-articles/caberfaehistory/
