Its was very common for the ski areas to dig out at the bottom and add to the top. the only one left still building a new peak that I know of. You can see on the bottom right of the pic where they are adding dirt to make the unload area bigger by next season.

Thanks for sharing. Saturday the parking lot was just about full to capacity, but it was cold out and the ski racks were very full which meant people were inside getting warm which for us people who dress for the weather we had short lift lines.

Plattekill was a double edge sword. While I was vey disappointed I didn't get to ski there, I was very happy to see them very busy. I know it's been a challenging season and all the ski areas need busy days like that.
