Man, I never ride the gondola this much when I ski Whiteface. Maybe once or twice a day? I don’t know if it’s because I got used to moving around the mountain without it or because I don’t like to take my skis off, but I’m more of a lifts guy (Gore & Belle too)

I think the Stratton village (and the Jiminy Peak village and whatever other village they want to build) is fine & it does a good job of drawing the kind of skiers who like that sort of thing to Stratton & Jiminy Peak and keeping them away from the mountains I like to ski.

Good. 4 people in my Tele group, 10 people in the alpine “trees & steeps” clinic. First time skiing platty for lots of people in that group. They loved it. Definitely a good $$$$ day for Laz. The bar & food lines were packed.

Plow guy at Platty just came though. Maybe about 3-4” down here. I definitely heard some ice/sleet pinging off the van overnight. Snow looks good for skiing

Made it to Plattekill. Where is this storm coming from? Was dumping snow the whole trip down until I hit Grand Gorge, then it turned to a light mist. Light snow & windy at platty right now. 28° outside according to the van. 67° inside the van.

Not a lot. I ran it all night at Jay peak in -5°, heated the van to about 60°, and it used less than 2 gallons, I’d say. The unit is expensive (Webasto), but I thought it was a better option than a tiny wood stove or a cheap Chinese diesel heater.

He’s going to Belleayre. Quick search says there is plenty of lodging around.

What are the roads going to be like tomorrow morning driving to Platty? (Highway then route 30 down)? Trying to decide if I should drive down tonight & sleep in the van.
