    Winter Weather 2024/25

Here in NNJ we actually had a typical winter temperature wise but not much snow. The last few years our winter temps were more like Washington/Baltimore metro region. The running joke in my neighborhood was that there was no longer a weather reason to move to Virginia or even NC when we retire...

Beautiful spring day. Temps in the 50s. Corn snow everywhere. Magic is the bump on the left

    Stratton Conditions

Yesterday was cloudy, cold, windy, raw, and dust on crust. But today, perfection. It must have snow an inch or 2 and temps are in the high 30s. The sun is blazing and the trails are slowly softening.

    Gore Mountain Conditions

Standard Operating Procedures at Gore. That chair opens mid-Jan, sometimes part time or for racing only, then operates full time for 5-6 weeks and then goes back to part time beginning of March. Good stuff.

If you do go to Killington you could try Pico. It is a fun area and usually less crowded than Killington.

    Stratton Conditions

Skiing was excellent today. It was freezing between the temps and wind. Packed powder on many trails. The wind did mess with the speed of the HS chairs all day. They have fixed the roof of the top gondola building and were loading the gondola from about 11am thru the rest of the day. North...

    Stratton Conditions

Arrived at 1:30pm. With the gondola down, Amex had a nice line. But once you got to the upper lifts it was skiing right on. The lower angle trails had great conditions. The steeper trails had lots of heavy granular over styrofoam. The natural trails have been groomed. It was cold with a heavy...

    Stratton Conditions

Stratton is quite good today. It. Is sunny, cold and windy with the usual wind holds. The groomed trails are excellent. The ungroomed are petrified and mostly closed until they groom.

    Stratton Conditions

Today was a mess. Sleet most of the morning with a switch to drizzle after lunch. Since temps were right around freezing the lovely snow we have been skiing on turned into paste. Still, I was skiing! The sad part is the drop in temps is going to revive the frozen granular hard pack ice we...

Where should New Milo ski next?

MRG's lack of attention here has multiple reasons. 1. As mentioned, it is hard to get to. 2. It is risky to visit due to almost no snowmaking. 3. You can get a similar experience at Sugarbush with the added attraction of snowmaking and HS lifts, plus you can drive over to MRG if you desire. 4...
