    The Ugh Thread

Speaking of ugh, along with the injury and now home care of Blue Toes documented elsewhere, we now have a bit of a septic emergency here at SBRHQ. Was planning to get the tank pumped in August but apparently we need it pumped NOW. Dude is coming tomorrow, we are on low flushing and low water...

    Going Under the Knife

As of tomorrow, BT won't be in the hospital. We were expecting that she would be released on Thursday but got word this morning that she will be released tomorrow. That's my birthday present! She had physio sessions yesterday and today. The PT took a closer look at her x-rays and determined...

    Going Under the Knife

Well, hospital visiting is a lot easier now that BT is in our home town. And, as a bonus, quite by accident we learned that family pets are allowed to visit at the Huntsville hospital, with care team approval. We got approval and Moira went for her first hospital visit and gave some dawg love to...

    Going Under the Knife

Big news, Blue Toes had a shower today at the Toronto hospital, and better news, will transported tonight to our local Hinterlandian hospital for more R & R. Visiting will be way easier.

    Going Under the Knife

Yes, it will be an interesting time. She starts physio today at the hospital, the story will become more clear as that progresses. The doc said she should not have any problem traveling by October, as long as there is someone around to carry luggage.

    Going Under the Knife

Big news, the head of neurosurgery said that surgery is not recommended. Still a long road ahead since she has two vertebrae with compression fractures and four broken ribs. Big boost in spirit today. Physio to follow and hopefully hospital release in a few days.

She had a sponge bath and hair wash today. Turns out that new roomie is from our area and actually lives on the same road as the ill-fated incident property.

    The Incredible Music Thread

And now for something completely different. This thread needs a little dose of the late, great, John Hartford. Old video so the audio is not the best. Search for the more recent Sam Bush cover if you want more fidelity: This cover will do:

    Going Under the Knife

Thanks all. Sunday update: Not much big news: - I have the commute dialed now. - BT had an x-ray this morning. No results as it seems the surgeons take the weekend off unless it is an emergency. This is not an emergency (good/bad). - BT was moved out of the Trauma section into Ortho, same...

    Going Under the Knife

Thanks for the well wishes. She is is still in the Toronto hospital. Good news is that it is not asbad as originally thought, bad news is that it is still bad. Likely one fractured vertebra (L1). Plus four broken ribs. Doc wants an x-ray before final final surgery decision despite two CT scans...

    Going Under the Knife

All of a sudden the knife comes close to you... Short version: my wife has injuries that are not life threatening but she is badly hurt. Well, our life took a turn in a different direction yesterday. Blue Toes was working and visiting a potential rental cottage (she works at a cottage rental...

Nice! Turtles are awesome. Swans less so, in my experience. They are kind of over-the-top territorial.

    Wildlife

Def a cuter little gaffer but the fisher would eat it for lunch.

    Wildlife

This cute little gaffer visited our house the other morning. It is a fisher (Pekania pennanti), in case you are wondering.

Loggins and Messina at their peak, 21 minutes you won't regret if you are of an age. Saw them live at the Montreal Forum in the 70s with Heart as the opening act, what a show that was.
