    Arizona Snowbowl $$$

Until I moved to Albuquerque in 1990, I had no idea what that ^^ meant. Wow, did I get a quick education in Breaking Bad lifestyles. Little did I know how many western towns/cities would look like that in a couple decades.

Mine didn't quite reach ^^ that level but was pretty impressive -- reminded me of Blue Oyster Cult's 1978 laser show!

Total Solar Eclipse coming to NY: April 8, 2024

That's what I was trying to convey to @TonyC, who sees it purely through the lens of an eclipse junkie.

I saw them while camping in northern Quebec and they were gorgeous -- hearing wolves howling in the distance made it even better. But you haven't seen a full-totality eclipse, right?

It's great hearing everyone cheering in that Stanley, Idaho clip. I'm convinced that I'd enjoy experiencing it but my family and I just don't have the bandwidth for 5-ish hours in each direction plus an overnight somewhere.

    Winter Weather 2023/24

Just noting how Jason gets to bitch from both sides of the fence -- bemoans the East and rhapsodizes about Utah ^^, while grumbling elsewhere that SLC has become a zoo for skiers and he's done with it. It's all about the complainin'. 😁

Great clip. I love the two skiers at 1:09 in their vintage outfits/equipment: Reminds me of the billboard for Grasgehren along the German/Austrian border:

The Highlands, Harbor Springs, Mi 2/29/24

Excellent report. Interesting about the expensive new chair and how it mirrors my observation two years ago at Söllereck, Germany: the exact same vertical!

Can't remember if we discussed it before -- was there lift-served skiing at Fahnestock at some point?

    Skiing In The Poconos

Got swag: I used to go there several times a season and could score nice conditions when timed correctly, like this day ten years ago.

    Belleayre sold out again

Doesn't seem like so long ago when anti-Belle people used to goof on its ski-day numbers and argue that NYS should set it adrift.

Where are you skiing this week?

AKA Dead Liver! 🤠 I skied there on my Enchanted Circle trip in Feb 2009. Also worth checking out while in northern NM: Sipapu and Angel Fire.

    Greek Peak Conditions

Growing up in the early/mid 70s, I remember the GP sign that you saw on top of the hill when approaching the Homer exit on 81 south. Does anyone have a pic of it? I recall kids on the school bus arguing at length about which CNY ski area was the best -- Labrador and GP had their fans, no one...
