Looks like we all got our panties in a bunch for no reason.

Gore / North Creek Lodging and Amenities

I have stayed there many times--we refer to it as the log cabin. It is perfectly fine. Right across from gas and McDonald's and right next to a Price Chopper (which closes by like 10pm). I have stayed in worse places near ski mountains for $200/night.

I noticed that some of the gondola cabins still had windows open on Sunday. Gonna be interesting when they get that going again.

At least they have the maze up at AEII today. 🤪

Very deceiving picture. If you look at the webcam, it's because they didn't assemble the maze. Don't fall for Sno's (typical) bs. https://goremountain.com/the-mountain/webcam/

    Winter Weather 2023/24

There is a storm coming between now and this event that is forecast to drop 6-12" in many places. That's what would be melting and potentially cause the flooding.

Thruway won't be closed--at least due to construction. Read back a few replies for the press release.

First it seems like an AI-generated article. Second, since MTN was down during the year, the sellers may be looking to sell losing stocks to offset gains they made elsewhere--a tax move.

I thought there was one there! Any architect who seeks work in lodges should be forced to climb three flights of stairs in ski boots before submitting any designs.

There are several ways around this. One is to go to a smaller independent option that is far less expensive. The problem is that with no snow yet options are limited. However, if you happen to live in New Jersey or southest NY, Big Snow is a great and pretty affordable option (3-day lift/rental...

The hardest part about that terrain is maintaining enough speed to keep moving. It is truly the easiest terrain on the mountain and there is plenty of snow. There is no damage to roads, infrastructure, or otherwise. The nearest construction zone speed camera to Gore is in Syracuse...

I was there on Saturday and there were whales all over the mountain that they seem to have been able to push out last night/today. I am not terribly surprised by the resiliency there.

Yeah, weekdays during/around business hours is not a good time to be on the road.

Nassau is far worse than Suffolk. Saturday and Sunday until about noon is clear sailing. For weekend trips, I usually leave on the later side Friday evening (6/7) and by the time I get back on Sunday the only hangups are getting through the Bronx or merging from the Cross Island onto the LIE.

Congrats, Harvey. I live pretty close to SUNY Stony Brook and my wife works there (in Chemistry). You can get to/from Gore in under 5 hours (barring traffic of course). Belleayre is 3ish.
