Whiteface used to have a Bears Den only lift ticket - not applicable on Saturdays. You could purchase a cheaper lift ticket and only take the Falcon Flyer (I think it was the Bunny hutch then). I don't think they do that any more. I used that a few times for my nephew that was learning to ski.

I am writing from bears den lodge right now...it's cold and not crowded. There are no perfect responses for the questions you seek. You just gotta aim, shoot and make the best of where ever you go. If you like to ski, you will have a good time at either mountain... both are awesome 😎

Head right to Bears Den and you will be fine.

They have spent a lot of money in erecting all those efficient permanent mounted snow guns and now it's paying off. (Let's be honest ...I only replied so I could use the word "erect" ....that is all)

That WAS an amazing store !! My summer weekends were canoeing 13th Lake and stopping into North Creek. What ever happened to the store ?

They are closed for the fall. Usually when they are closed, they close the gate at the beginning of the bridge. Meaning you can't drive right in - not sure what would happen if you walked around. I would send an email or call ahead to be sure - I have to imagine the front desk is open as people...
