USSA Masters Nationals start tomorrow. Good luck to the people participating-kind of glad I didn't sign up. I have a bunch of friends doing them though.

    F Vail

While the rest of our gang is going to Beaver Creek tomorrow (with Epic passes), I refuse to pay $200 for a "friends and family" one day pass. I'll ski at Copper again-tons of stuff to explore and it's paid for. Not that Vail cares one bit, but I can feel righteous not contributing to their...

    Bristol Conditions

Glad to see all the activity in the Bristol conditions reports! Guess my bugging Charlie to start posting created the momentum! I'll start adding my .02 again when I'm back from CO.

Too bad..........wasn't bad yesterday although I didn't free ski much due the Beer League final. Wind is worse than rain as it sucks the moisture out of the snow. Yes, I hope there's a big March storm so we have something to ski when we get back. Thanks for the report Andy even if it was...

Thanks Andy! If we decide to go there, it will be our 4th or 5th time. We like the tree runs and the variety of trails, We're old and not looking for "maximum gnar". Hope for a snowy March so Bristol will be open until mid April. Miss the deck parties!

Staying in Frisco with IKON, so Copper, Abasin for the first weeks. Long story, my wife and a friend are already out there with the Epic pass, so they are doing those resorts this week. We may move to either Steamboat or Winter Park after that. I'll rely on you guys to keep the reports going...

    Bristol Conditions

Wonderful day at Bristol today. Got out just past 9:00 with sun and grooming. Didn't take long for the snow to soften up to hero snow-very edgeable, especially the parts of the run to skier's left where the sun hit it. One run down the loop to warm up, then to the northside where the Galaxy...

    Bristol Conditions

Sorry for no updates-new computer was getting changed over and I don't have the patience to write on my phone (yes, I'm old!) Sorry I missed Saturday-I figured it would be a zoo and I guess I figured wrong. Skied Sunday with my oldest granddaughter from close to open until noon. Fair conditions...

Thanks! Yes, I'm OK. Bindings did their job and released when they should have. Skied for a couple more hours then went to the Y, did a lazy workout then got in the hot tub. Skipping today as I'm sure it will be a zoo. Hopefully skiing with the grandkids tomorrow if they can get their butts out...

    Bristol Conditions

By the time I got there, most of the overnight snowfall was cut up, creating piles to be blasted through. Still icy underneath-had to be a little cautious about really committing to an edge in some spots. Still plenty of snow on the slopes-should be very nice early tomorrow when it gets groomed...

    Bristol Conditions

We got our butts moving fairly early and got on the chair around 9:30. 3" or so of fluff on top of the groomed surfaces and it kept refreshing throughout the day. Brightened up a few times, but was pretty overcast for most of the time. All trails were good, but as the day went on still some icy...

    Bristol Conditions

Late start today but a decent day. Slim lift lines, although there was a decent crowd in the lodge. While we were there got 1-2" of fresh which helped the surfaces. Other than that, conditions remained about the same-some icy spots (no surprise with the thaw/freeze on Sunday, but well groomed. I...

    Bristol Conditions

Late report from yesterday/Monday. Good recovery from the rain/snow event on Sunday. Loose stuff on top and firm underneath. Galaxy chair was running, due to the holiday week. Crowds were low for a holiday, but cold temps and high winds probably kept people away. Started late and quit pretty...

    Bristol Conditions

Got to the parking lot about 8:00 and was surprised how many cars were already there. Registered for the race and got dressed. Did a couple of Loop/Southern Cross warmup runs before course inspection. They were nice with little traffic at that hour. Comet/Outer Orbit were firm and fast-good for...

    Bristol Conditions

Got down around noon, so I missed the morning. Firm and fast, but with sun, so it was very manageable. Yes, you needed sharp edges on stiff skis! One run on my Nordica 104s to check the new binding position (for the upcoming trip out west), then switched to a pair of my GS skis which were a lot...

    Bristol Conditions

I registered, but haven't paid, so if it looks bad I'll skip the race. Don't want to spend the morning slipping fresh snow off the course..............:)

    Bristol Conditions

Not bad. Plenty of snow on it, but still gotta look for icy spots, although from the webcam it looks like they're getting snow, so that should help. Against my better judgement, I decided to race, at least the top to bottom. NY Masters is combining with them so we get an opportunity to race at...

    Bristol Conditions

Decent conditions again today with the Galaxy chair running. The Universe moguls are groomed which left the trail with some marbles. All else good-some icy spots but not bad. Did a couple runs off the Crawler-Milky Way and Nova had nice edgeable snow and no wind on the chair. I like to go back...
