    Coronavirus and Skiing

That seems to be the most important part, IMO. This means that resorts are responsible for tracking and certifying their guests are in compliance with the travel restrictions (whether staying at the resort, off the resort, or day tripping, is I read it). That is going to quite challenging to...

    Love for Smuggs

That is fair, as I don't get the Smuggs hate. :D If you want high speed lifts and wide open groomers, Smuggs is definitely not the best option. If you appreciate old school vibes, fixed grip lifts, natural snow, and some of the most challenging on map terrain in the east, Smuggs is the real...

Would you quit skiing for $1,000,000?

Couldn't pay me all the money in the world, it wouldn't be worth it. Probably would be easier to take the mil and run if I was 20 years older with deteriorating body condition.

Cuomo says ski areas in NY to open at 50% Capacity

I agree. Races need to be limited to weekdays and cancelled on the weekends. I am a former racer, it sucks. I get it. But I see no other way around it.

Cuomo says ski areas in NY to open at 50% Capacity

I agree with preferring a lodge. Really don't like booting up at my car. Not looking forward to doing so in the Stateside lot with a -10*F wind chill blowing through... At least I have the option, which is more than you have. But my county just got put on VT's 10 day quarantine list. So, unless...

Cuomo says ski areas in NY to open at 50% Capacity

The article's first paragraph states that the reduction is 50% capacity for indoor areas. That is going to be hard to enforce on a cold day. Are they going to tell cold skiers to queue up outside, physically distanced, and wait to come into the lodge to warm up? I've never seen a ski area...

    Passes for 2020 - 2021

Cannon and Magic for sure. Depending on snow conditions, Abram, Black, and Bolton are all options.

    Passes for 2020 - 2021

I am back at Jay for 2020-2021 (it has been a few years...), along with a Mad Card and likely an Indy Pass.

How Much Ground Clearance Do You Need?

If you are driving on paved roads that receive normal plowing, you don't "need" anything more than a FWD vehicle with snow tires. I am a storm chaser and I've always gotten by just fine with low to the ground compact cars. If anything, my current Civic Hatch might have the least amount of...

    Saddleback

No one has bought Saddleback yet, no deal has been made. But it appears that the current owners and a potential buyer are still working together on finalizing a sale. I've seen no reports that Peak Resorts was involved at any time with the current owners. Perhaps they were but I've yet to see...
